WHAT TO EXPECT:
This project will involve breaking the building up into six (6) “Sections” (A-F). During each section, airflow within the ductwork system will be restricted. The contractor will conduct cleaning and encapsulating activities using equipment that will create noise within the immediate area. The contractor will need full access to Offices, Classrooms, Laboratories, etc. in order to complete the cleaning operation. The University will notify occupants in advance of when the contractor needs access to their respective areas. Areas with dedicated air systems (Bathrooms, some Laboratories, etc.) will remain unaffected.
During Duct Cleaning activities in a particular Section, the contractor will access the horizontal ducts in areas of the Hallways and Rooms. The workers will wear personal and respiratory protection as a precaution. The work areas will be isolated with plastic sheeting, and demarcated with yellow barricade tape during the activity. Access into a work area will be limited. Please use non-work area Hallways for travel whenever possible.
Construction activities may create noise.
