Votey Hall 3rd Level – Hallways on the South and East sides on the 3rd level from rooms 201 to 213C, 235 to 239 and rooms 250 to 256 will be closed off for the duration of the abatement project. The stair tower entrance on the South side of Votey Hall to the 3rd level will be closed off.

WHAT IS HAPPENING?
Environmental Hazards Management Inc. will be removing the remainder of vinyl floor tiles on the 3rd level for a total of 1864. square feet of floor tile and associated adhesive.

Representatives from the Training and Compliance Office will stabilize paint on the exterior of the windows on the East and South sides of the building.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
During maintenance practices, workers will wear personal and respiratory protection and will use engineering controls. The work area will be demarcated with yellow “Caution, Do Not Enter” tape as well as this notice during the activity. Prior to scraping, the window exterior will be sealed with poly sheeting. After stabilization, a coat of oil based primer will be applied.

Paint odors may be noticeable.
Noise associated with light construction can be expected.

Duct Cleaning Notice for Old Mill, All Floors, With Emphasis on 5th Floor

DUCT CLEANING NOTICE

WHAT IS HAPPENING?
The Physical Plant Training and Compliance Office has contracted Ventilation Technologies ATS (VentTec), to perform Old Mill duct cleaning activities associated with the 5th Floor air handling units (AHU’s) and associated ductwork, which will have a limited impact on other floors.

VentTec holds Air Systems Cleaning Specialist (ASCS) and Certified Ventilation Inspectors (CVI) certifications through the National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA).

DURATION OF WORK:

Completion Date:               Friday, August 15, 2014
Hours:                                7:00am- 3:30pm, Monday – Friday

Specific Area Coordination: As the project progresses, TCO will coordinate with Old Mill Faculty and Staff a day or two in advance to accommodate schedules.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
During duct cleaning, airflow within the ductwork system will be restricted. The contractor will conduct cleaning and encapsulating activities using equipment that will create noise within the immediate area. The contractor will need full access to Offices, Classrooms, etc. in order to complete the cleaning operation. The University will notify occupants in advance of when the contractor needs access to their respective areas. Areas with dedicated air systems (i.e. Bathrooms ) will remain unaffected.

During Duct Cleaning activities, the contractor will access the vertical and horizontal ducts in areas of the Hallways and Rooms. The workers will wear personal and respiratory protection as a precaution. The work areas will be isolated with plastic sheeting, and demarcated with yellow barricade tape during the activity. Access into a work area will be limited. Please use non-work area Hallways for travel whenever possible.

Construction activities may create noise.
