WHAT IS HAPPENING?
The Physical Plant Training and Compliance Office has contracted Ventilation Technologies ATS (VentTec), to perform Library Research Annex duct cleaning activities associated with the (AHU’s).

VentTec holds Air Systems Cleaning Specialist (ASCS) and Certified Ventilation Inspectors (CVI) certifications through the National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA).

DURATION OF WORK:

Hours:                                     7:00 AM – 5:00 PM    Monday – Friday

WHAT TO EXPECT:
During duct cleaning, airflow within the ductwork system will be restricted. The contractor will conduct cleaning and encapsulating activities using equipment that will create noise within the immediate area. The contractor will need full access to Offices, Classrooms, etc. in order to complete the cleaning operation. The University will notify occupants in advance of when the contractor needs access to their respective areas. Areas with dedicated air systems will remain unaffected.

During Duct Cleaning activities, the contractor will access the vertical and horizontal ducts in areas of the Hallways and Rooms. The workers will wear personal and respiratory protection as a precaution. The work areas will be isolated with plastic sheeting, and demarcated with yellow barricade tape during the activity. Access into a work area will be limited. Please use non-work area Hallways for travel whenever possible.

Construction activities may create noise.

WHAT IS HAPPENING?
In support of routine maintenance on a leaking pipe, The Physical Plant Training and Compliance Office will remove 1 linear foot of thermal system insulation on a copper pipe above the drop ceiling in the hallway room 170 on the Ground Floor by room 119.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
The insulation will be removed within glove bags which create an air tight seal around the asbestos containing material and a high efficiency vacuum will be utilized to provide the glove bags with negative pressure. Workers will wear respirators and protective clothing as a precaution and air monitoring will be performed. The work area will be demarcated with yellow barricade tape, and posted with an asbestos “Danger” sign as well as this notice during the activity. Entry to this area should be limited to authorized personnel involved in the removal activity during this time.

WHAT IS HAPPENING?
To accommodate the repair of a broken window, staff from the Training & Compliance Office will be removing 1 square foot of asbestos window caulking / glazing from the window.

DURATION OF WORK:

Hours:                           7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

WHAT TO EXPECT:
The window caulking will be abated by isolating the window on the interior of the building with a poly barrier. Caulking abatement will be performed from the building’s exterior using localized negative pressure. The ground area directly under the window will be covered with poly and workers will wear personal and respiratory protection during abatement activities.

The work area will be demarcated with yellow barricade tape, and posted with an asbestos “Danger” sign as well as this notice during the activity. Entry to this area should be limited to authorized personnel unless a situation posing an Immediate Danger to Life and Health (IDLH) occurs, and if possible, this entry should be made with personal and respiratory protection.

Significant noise is to be expected.

The UVM rescue garage will be blocked during window replacement activities.
